Innovation & Technology Group
Open to all members of Phyllis Court Club for a nominal £10 per year, the Innovation & Technology group (ITG) is focussed on helping members better understand the use of technology in the world around them. Originally formed as the 'Computer Group' we now cover a lot more than just computers, but still have a mission to help members get the best out of their computing devices - desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches and more.

We have regular outside speakers bringing expertise and knowledge on some of the more interesting aspects of technology, science and engineering; click or tap 'Presentations' in the menu above to see the programme for the next few months.
In addition to the Presentations, we have regular Workshops given by members of the committee and designed to broaden members' understanding of their devices and how to keep them (and their data) safe and secure. Click or tap the 'Workshops' in the menu above to see the forthcoming programme.

We run a Helpdesk for members who are invited to submit requests for help and/or questions regarding any aspect of computing. Each request is passed to the committee member or volunteer most able to answer. The email address for help requests is published in the monthly Innovation & Technology newsletter and on our members-only Phyllis Court website. Click or tap 'Help' in the menu above to learn more about the our help programme (the Help page includes a simple form to request help).
Presentations
Presentations are for the benefit of members of the Innovation & Technology group, although non-members are welcome to try one meeting before joining - or to join on the day.

Presentations are generally run on the first Monday of the month starting at 11:00 (members are requested to be present by 10:50) and most are given by an external speaker distinguished in his or her sphere of activity with some link to technology or science.
Most Presentations are held in the Ballroom but changes will be published in the regular Innovation & Technology email to members.
Workshops
Workshop talks are usually presented by a Committee member and generally run on the third Monday of each month starting at 11:00. These cover a variety of topics of interest to members; subjects are generally focussed on security (of devices and data), how-to guidance, software (applications and operating systems), and hardware; some workshops focus on a particular sector (such as Windows or Apple) but most will apply to all devices.

Each session lasts from 30 to 45 minutes and a recording will usually be available to view again from the members' web portal.
Watch again
We strive to record all talks (Workshops and Presentations) so they can be watched again on-line if you missed the live event (or if you just want to remind yourself of a particular point).

Links to the recordings of prior Workshops and Presentations are provided in the regular Innovation & Technology email to members.
