Steve Morton: Using Data when Travelling
We all rely on data to connect our mobile devices, and when travelling we have the choice of using mobile data or relying on WiFi. But roaming charges can make mobile data expensive, while WiFi isn't always available and public WiFi can be risky. This talk looks at the alternatives of buying a local SIM or installing an eSIM for data, and covers the use of Virtual Private Network (VPN) to stay safe when using WiFi abroad.

Steve Morton: Unbundling Broadband
When broadband was first introduced, most providers offered a full service: phone, internet and email, all from the same company. Now we have a range of providers, some only offering broadband but often much faster, and our email addresses have become an essential route to communicate with us. What is involved when having broadband, phone and email from different providers? can we keep our old address? what are the pro's and con's of doing so? can a separate email service provider offer an alternative? and if we need a landline, what is involved? This talk will attempt to address all of these topics.
